(I found it so funny that she had this recipe tucked in the box...just in case Nestle stops printing it!)
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup butter softened
3/4 cups sugar
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 12 oz pkg choc. chips
Preheat oven to 375. In a small bowl combine flour, baking soda and salt, set aside. In a large bowl combine butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla, beat until creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add flour mixture, mix well. Stir in choc chips. Drop (tsp size) onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9 - 11 minutes. Make about 5 dozen 2 1/2 inch cookies.
PAN COOKIE VARIATION: Prepare cookie dough as directed. Spread into greased 15x10x1 inch baking pan. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes. Cool then cut into 2 inch squares.
We all loved these cookies!
Just about every X-Mas each one of us would get our own cookie tin of them!
Then she would say:
"save the tin, bring it back for next year!"
